Gustave Dore

Gustave Dore was an engraver, illustrator, artist and sculptor.

He used a lot of geometrical concepts and figures in his work.

He had a very vivid imagination, as can be seen from this illustration from Dante's Inferno:

My favourite amongst his works are the illustrations done for The Bible. Sharing some of them here:

David and Goliath

"The brazen serpent"
The last supper

We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence.

See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls.” – Mother Teresa
